About This Game A serial killer is terrorizing the streets of Victorian London, and private investigator Sydney Emerson has hit a new low between finding lost dogs and receiving alleyway beatings. A turn of events sees Sydney forgoing his selfish nature and thrusting himself into perilous and increasingly surreal situations, treading a fine line between dreams and reality. Explore the foggy streets of Victorian London in all its decadence and depravity, searching the slums, taverns, brothels and even Sydney’s abstract dreamscapes for clues, while meeting a host of interesting, insane and eccentrically British characters along the way.Features•A noir adventure laced with adult themes and dark humour.•A faithful recreation of Victorian London, from decadence to depravity.•Classic point and click gameplay in the vein of the LucasArts games of yore.•Explore Sydney’s surreal dream-world for clues.•Follow the trail of a killer, or drink until you vomit at the pub.•Original soundtrack blends film noir and traditional Victorian instruments. 7aa9394dea Title: The Slaughter: Act OneGenre: Adventure, IndieDeveloper:BrainchildPublisher:BrainchildRelease Date: 28 Jan, 2016 The Slaughter: Act One Free Download [key Serial] Enjoyable playwritting I must praise, the protagnist has a strong character and a few other roles are impressive too. The story is developing well so far. Quizzes not very challenging but they are ok with me, it's the story that I care more about. If the developer want to make them more difficult, that's ok too. But I'm sure if the minigame be tear away the whole playing would become even more smooth and pleasing.Like some previous player commented, if you played some Wadjet eye games before and you liked them, this one is for you, because I am another living proof of that. Finally, I can see the cemetery is there and I was not given chances to exploit it, so I have reasons to believe Act II is already in development, thus I really wish it will come out soon.. This is a mixed bag. The story is well told, but not that original (there might be more orginality hidden behind the dream stuff, but this remains to be unveiled yet). The game itself it quite short (I've idled ingame), and the puzzles aren't really fun: some pixel hunting, some fetch-quests and some obtuse random stuff. The game feels unresponsive and clunky: the character walks quite slowly and has some pathfinding issues. Since he persists to walk to a hotspot when ever I want to try to apply an item there (just to tell me it won't work once he's arrived), solving puzzles feels sluggish and annoying sometimes. The graphics are okay but not really a joy to watch, especially not the mainchars moonwalking. They serve their purpose nevertheless. But, as said before, the narration is well done. For 8 € I'd expect more than a trailer ending with a cliffhanger, but nevertheless this game has much potential. Slightly recommanded in hope for a more polished second part.. I wasn't expecting this to try to be a wacky comedy given the game's name, store page description, and subject matter involving a brutally murdered prostitute, and I think going in that direction was a mistake. The setting and graphics made me think of the two The Last Door games, which are strange games but play the dark subject matter straight and are far better games than this. This one goes from having an off tone to going completely off the rails towards the end with a transgender plotline that is totally out of place, plus, for good measure, a randomly inserted fight against racism, and then a confrontation with a crime boss who's a small child for no reason I could see. There are a couple times where your character has strange dreams with a talking fish. That tangent ends up going nowhere, and in retrospect just ends up seeming like an attempt to pad a story that's thin in this first act. Really not a lot happens storywise before the sudden ending on a cliffhanger.. Nice story and overall look and feel.Too bad it is really really short. Also quite easy.. A mature, weighty experience. Not a ton of puzzles, but mostly good ones. Great characters, setting and atmosphere. Can't wait for chapter 2.. A slow game. I wish the character would walk faster. Good dialogues though, and I love the visuals.I really hated the Shove ha Penny minigame though, especially the fact that you couldn't skip seeing the opponent's shoves. But all in all a decent game, even though it doesn't involve puzzles as such.. I'm going to assume you're already a fan of point-and-click adventures, so I'll keep it short. This is a very well-written, witty and atmospheric game! I found the puzzles enjoyable and comfortably difficult (not too easy, not too hard). The art is imperfect but charming, and I think it's pretty good at contributing positively to the overall feel of the game. I'm really looking forward to Act Two!Basically, if you enjoy the point-and-click games that Wadjet Eye and/or Screen7 publishes, I think you'll be pretty happy with this.. The story is great. A lot of David Lynch's influence in the dream sequences it seems. The graphics and style bring back nostalgia from the Lucas Art era, and the dialogs are just as or even more funny. That being said, the sound stops working if you minimize it. And the UI is appalling. The puzzles are pretty bland. The navigation system is worse than amateur (basically if there's an obstacle in the way instead of 1 click it will take several to get around). Also the character walks to the object just to describe it or to give the "this won't work" generic line. There is more good than bad in this game, I just hope the dev will polish it further in the next instalment.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FAlT8sEGKhcIt’s a classic adventure game through and through, and I was initially stumped by a few of the puzzles I came across. For the frustrated, I can only offer the advice I’ve been given since my first Sierra game in the early nineties: click on everything, and pick everything that you can up.2016 is already starting out as a year for exciting games on the horizon, so you can imagine my surprise when a smaller indie adventure game like this one took my interest. I had a hell of a lot of fun playing The Slaughter, and look forward to its next episode.. I'm definitely not feeling "backer's remorse" for contributing to the development of The Slaughter. Alexander Francois has developed a game he should be proud of and while I have some minor quibbles with the game, its quirky characters, intriguing plot and entertaining puzzles have won me over. It contains all the crucial ingredients for a top notch point 'n' click adventure but with an indie game price tag.http://www.choicestgames.com/2016/02/the-slaughter-act-one-review.html
